While I await for some anticipated news from Fr.Frankie about the CAMINO, the church where I volunteer my services, was broken into at 2:00 am this Tuesday morning. I had to deal with the Sherriff’s department and the Security alarm company in the wee hours of Tuesday morning to view security camera recording of the suspected culprit. The burglar, who appears to be a young teenage kid, was still in the building premises when the police arrived. However, he avoided capture when the police officer got confused on which exit door he was going to come out of. Needless to say, the security cameras have a good record of this burglary and there were no significant loss to the church.
Although I took a leave of absence from my usual church work beginning June this year to pave the way for this Camino, the Pastor of the church, Fr. Ryszard Kulma, arranged with admin that I still maintain the title in Facilities Management (Volunteer) to make it easy for me to return back to my regular role once I’m done with my sabbatical break.
Received this pair of pants from the mail today. Got a tip from Fr. Lescek Rasztawicki, a veteran pilgrim and a frequent visitor to our parish from Poland, who had tackled the full length of the Northern Way camino route (820 km) in 22 grueling days. He suggests to bring one convertible shorts/pants to save space/weight. Allows one to walk in shorts and easily convert into pants at establishments where shorts are not allowed.
